I lost this on November.  They played Don't They Know It's Christmas After All, So This is Christmas, and Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time and they won't stop!

At 50 I thought you get your first Winnebago, not lumbago.

Sorry I missed this New Dawn.  I hope you had a wonderful celebration.  The big 50!  Mine is not too far in the future as well.

Different tastes keeps us from being a boring species.

I never really had exposure to the Dead before.  I listened to the entire performance you linked to.  Thanks  for that.  I will listen to some more perhaps with better sound quality.  Feel free to post more links.

I can understand the appeal but it would seem to be one of those can't quite describe in a single common phrase.  Their singing is not particularly good and their instrumentation didn't seem particularly special, not that most popular performers stand out in these ways either.  However, it is the sort of music that you can have on as background music which is why I can see them being particularly popular in live concerts.  Most musicians are lousy outside of the studio.  For example, Katy Perry is expert at her vocal arrangements in her pop music but live she is terrible to the degree you'd think she doesn't care a whit about her performance.  She is a true recording artist, not performing artist.  Technology does wonders.  So the Dead, not too loud, not too soft, not offensive, not kiddie oriented or candy granola.  They are just about right there in the middle.

I took interest in the commenators' discussion during the concert, noting the part where they stated that the band was just beginning using a producer for their next album, as opposed to self producing, and couldn't help but wonder if they received criticism from some fans who may have thought that this move was "going commercial".

New Dawn I liked the Honda commercial a lot.  Fun.

Also, the time lapse links were not so much about the time lapse format but rather about the subject, the night sky.  It is of particular interest to me because here on the east coast of the US, there is not much night sky to enjoy.  I'm a sci-fi junkie and the stars are wondrous to me, all nine of them that I can see here in Maryland.

Hiya Welder, nice to hear from you.  Things are good with me too.  I'm about to have a substantial work environment change, starting Monday, going from contractor status, working ridiculous hours, to actual employee status and I intend to use that change to retrieve some of my life hours to devote to things other than work work work, at least the paid work.  It'd be nice to get back to working on this site, my novel and short stories, and maybe even reading a book for myself once in a while.

On the contrary.  While our diplomatic mission is serving niceties, we have Black Hawk helicopters taking off from our carrier group as we speak to attempt to covertly steal the happiness.  If they should crash and we get caught (what are the odds of that happening) we'll deny it, then blame someone else for making us do it.  Of course, there's always the drone option.

The two smiley faces doubles my immediate happiness, but as an American we must of course compete in happiness.  Are you currently developing weapons of mass happiness?  May we inspect them?

I'd rather she didn't sing at all because she's, IMO, vastly overrated.  But if other folks like her that's fine too.  I'd pay to see SOoT sing though.
